Inspiration
The bedroom collection affords Bethan the opportunity to extender her signature Nizwa and Dhow patterns into more rooms in the home, where she has particularly treated the headboard space as a perfect canvas for showcasing Shamsian’s beautifully executed marquetry. As one big open space, it makes the most of the pattern and the metallic overlay shines.
Craft
There is a charm in the way both patterns work across headboards and bedside cabinets, flowing across each in waves of pattern with an enticing point of view.
Detail
Each piece is made to order, allowing for the length and width of the wooden base and the pattern of the headboard to be customised to accommodate different mattress sizes and individual bedroom needs.

Care Instructions
Bethan Gray Design collections are handcrafted using the highest quality materials with naturally occurring variations making each piece unique. Grain variation is an inherent characteristic of wood and its colour will change over time. Likewise, natural veneers and solid metal finishes age beautifully, creating a unique patina that is one of the joys of these natural finishes. Wipe clean with a damp cloth, avoiding detergent, polish or waxed-based cleaning products. In the event of a spillage, use a clean, dry cloth rather than anything abrasive. The cabinetry collection features untreated solid brass feet and rails, which will naturally fade to a matt patina. Should you wish to maintain a more luminous finish, we recommend polishing brass elements with ‘Brasso’. Production Lead Times
Bethan Gray Design collections are handmade by master craftsmen, so please allow a six-week lead time for pieces from the collection and eight weeks for bespoke requests.
Shipping
We deliver to Europe and North America from our London hub, while deliveries to Asia and the Gulf region are shipped directly from our workshop in Muscat, Oman. (Collection can also be arranged from both locations – please contact our fulfilment team for details.) Each piece will be individually packaged, and our trusted logistic partners offer a superb service. On arrival, you can choose curbside delivery or a white glove service which includes installation in the room of choice and the removal of crates and other packaging. Shipping times vary according to location, but pieces can be air freighted more quickly for time sensitive projects.

Marquetry
We use Italian straight grain and Bird’s Eye maple veneer, both hand dyed and laser cut into the petals which are laid together to create the façade panels for our Nizwa cabinets, bar cabinets and chest of drawers. While the grain of each piece of veneer travels in the same direction, a natural difference between each petal, providing wonderful variety in the wood’s texture and ability to catch the light.
Ombre
To create our distinctive Nizwa ombre effect, Shamsian’s craftsmen build up layers of colour by hand spraying blocks of veneer in stages, ascending the rows of veneer arches from dark to light.
Brass Overlay
The slim brass arches – slightly beveled to help catch the light – are placed over the seams of each of the veneer petals, disguising where each one comes together, recreating Bethan’s pleasingly repetitive rounded Nizwa pattern.
Solid Brass Feet
Each cabinet is designed with adjustable feet which Shamsian and his team turn by hand on a metal lathe, completed with a highly polished but tactile finish.
